• Como Park Garden News
The Como Park Garden has been a very busy place this spring.  We started over spring break taking out the existing vegetable beds and adding 9 new vegetable beds and 2 new herb tire gardens.  Since then we have also added a perennial bed along the fence line and a small raised bed that we are going to be building a greenhouse over.
Lining the beds with plastic and cardboard Dusty loading topsoil into the new beds. Lots of dirt to move! It was a cold day to garden! Looking Good! We loaded topsoil and manure into each of the beds
After spring break all the classrooms planted seeds and raised them to seedlings and then all the children came out for planting day to plant the seedlings.  With the help of many parents this was a wonderful day and filled our garden quickly.

Since then we have been watering and weeding on a regular basis and even harvested some radishes and lettuce for the children to taste test before the school year ended.

In the fall,  we will have our big harvest and  Farmer Marcinelli will be serving up the food for all the children to try.
