In the Spotlight

February 25, 2017

Dear Hillview Families,

I am writing to inform you of the death of one of our beloved teachers, Mrs. Andrea McFall. Mrs. McFall was a special education teacher at Hillview for many years and much of the student body has interacted with her. She was loved by all and will be missed more than words can say. We wanted to inform you personally so you could talk to your child before we return to school this Monday, February 27th.

It is our experience that when a death occurs within our school community, it is best for this news to come from the family. As always, I am available, along with our psychologists and social workers, to assist you and talk to your child if needed. It is our hope that by sharing this letter you will be able to better address the needs of your child.

If you need any assistance in any way, please do not hesitate to call the school at 686-3280.  Members of our counseling staff will be available all day on Monday and throughout the week to speak with students if needed.  Please also feel free to utilize the resources on the district website. http://lancasterschools.org/Page/15510 or by visiting the “our district” tab at www.lancasterschools.org and then selecting the Family Support Center.

Our thoughts and prayers are with Mrs. McFall’s family and yours at this difficult time. As a school, we are wearing green this Monday 2/27 to honor Mrs. McFall.  She was very proud of her Irish heritage, and her husband, John, agreed that green would be a perfect choice.  Mrs. McFall will forever hold a special place in our hearts, at Hillview Elementary School and in the Lancaster Central School District.

Mrs. Amy Moeller
